Design and implementation: Harborough Woodland introduced project managers East Mercia Rivers Trust to this opportunity funded by EA, Anglian Water and Harborough District Council S106 fund. Harborough Woodland river wardens monitor river quality and organised the planting of about 2000 trees to Woodland Trust design.
Benefits and constraints: Amazing landowners. Great project team and breakthrough opportunity as the first large scale NFM opportunity in the clay flashy frequently flooded upper River Welland catchment. Biggest problem was satisfying all neighbours, funding and delays due to record rainfall.
