Slow The Flow is delighted to announce our very own Stuart Bradshaw has been to Buckingham Palace to collect his British Empire Medal (BEM) for Services to Flood Risk Reduction and Land Management awarded in the Kings Birthday Honours list!
Stuart was the inspiration behind Slow The Flow here in Calderdale and a founding trustee and was instrumental in our success over the last 10 years. Although Stuart is no longer a Trustee, he still advises us on land management and on the many technical aspects of our work.
We are delighted for Stuart and for his wife Linda who has supported Stuart for 10 years in this endeavour. The work of Slow The Flow has been a huge part of the Bradshaw family and Slow The Flow is incredibly proud of this honour bestowed on Stuart by The King.

Stuart has been incredibly dedicated to reducing flood risk using alternative and natural methods and he has been the backbone of our Charity ever since. Slow The Flow owes Stuart a huge debt of gratitude and we would like to congratulate him on his BEM. It is hugely deserved.
The next chapter of Slow The Flow includes employing our first Project Development Officer to carry on our work so we are looking forward to the next 10 years, all of which would not have happened without Stuarts vision”
